1912

Our beautiful 14-story highrise dates back more than a century. Constructed in 1912, it was the headquarters of D.B. Fisk Co., the largest wholesale millinery in the country.

1912 - 1932

The company’s trademark “Fiskhat” was manufactured and marketed here until 1932, when the Great Depression forced the company to downsize.

1950s - late 1990s

The building became home to the Oxford House Hotel, “Chicago’s downtown motor hotel.”

1999

Kimpton acquires the building from Oxford House and converts it into the trendy Hotel Monaco.

2024

Lotte Hotels & Resorts acquires the Hotel Monaco and reopens it as L7 CHICAGO, its first
L7-branded property in North America. A “ghost sign” on the back of the building, visible from E. Wacker Place, reads, “D. B. Fisk & Co.: MANUFACTURE & IMPORTERS OF WHOLESALE MILLINERY.”
